Study of value chain acc. to one of the solution

So, the situation is also the same i.e., the most reliable guide is still conductor.

Acc. to given analysis the study says that 75% of public of  Pune prefers and has two-
wheeler that is used in daily purposes and only 0.8% public prefers public transport.
But buses are still the most reliable source after personal vehicles that is preferred.

So, below is the initial map of bus corridors in Pune City that has been added value of
color coding to it.

This is the initial map that shows the major bus depots in it.

So, acc. to the given color code on the map the buses would look like this.

Following is the in-depth map that is completely going to show the routes but except
secondary bus stops weren't added.

Leaks observed in current BRT Lanes and Stations

So, some of the leaks were observed in the BRT corridors during my field research i.e., first I travelled to Alandi Road (Vishrantvadi to Sadal Baba Junction).

Improper Pedestrian Crossing Fitting

Incomplete Ramp Construction

Unclear Bus Docking Markings

No Pedestrian Entrance

Major Obstruction that may cause
the smooth ride of
BRT buses

Absence Of Bus Lane Marking

Then I travelled to Ambedkar Bus Station.

Rumble Strips Without Any Purpose

No Automated Doors Fixed

No Seating Arrangement

Insufficient Light Facility

And then to Kharadi.

Unwanted Midway Opening

Divider And Rumble Strip Causing Obstruction

No Sign Board

No Information

Comic Strip

So, the above image shows what I experienced during my field research and led to my problem statement about improvising the interface of the PMC buses in Pune.

Assessment Matrix

So, according to the above problem matrix, the main problem is with driver, conductors and pedestrians.

Now where the driver's safety issue is concerned they don't even have seat belts with their seats and even if they have them then too they are least concerned about it. The salary they get is very less for them to support their family. So, the way they maintain the bus is very poor and the way they drive the bus, it becomes very difficult to maintain the bus for the maintenance workers too. The cooperation of these guys is also not good. Interaction between the passengers and driver is okay.
The management is least concerned about drivers. And where the word comes union, these guys (including conductors) are expertise. So unless these guys cooperate to bring the new system it is impossible to create one.

When the role of passengers come, the safety depends on whether they are sitting or standing. So until and unless they are sitting they are quite safe but the moment they stand for getting to their stop and the brake that the diver strikes is very dangerous. The cooperation is needed in passengers because I noticed that the seats alloted to women were empty but still they choose to sit on normal seat and because of the restriction of men not alloted their reserved space they have no choice but to stand. The union of passengers and the common people only unite unless there is some political strike or other. But other then that they have an attitude of letting go.

The seats are safe enough and they do cost less so, seats are not an issue here. But the way it is treated by passengers is not so good. So the maintenance guys could not be blamed on this one.

Cooperation from pedestrians is also much needed. I mean what hurry are they in. So, also because of pedestrians the passengers have to suffer.

Talking about road planning the roads were split in between for the ease of buses but not all the roads. So it straight away goes to the management.

So, I would like to take my attention on the interface and interaction that is experienced by the passengers.

Improvising Public Transportation Of Pune

So, on initial stage I was confused between accidents caused by mobile phones using on roads
or to improvise the public transporation of Pune.

After mind mapping I realized that I should study and improvise the whole transportation system
of Pune that is in very poor condition of processing as well as progressing.

And I was done with my mind mapping and the main problems that led to poor transportation in Pune were -
                     -Policy
                     -Awareness
                     -Infrastructure
                     -Timing
                     -Interface

                                 Bus Stop Scenario At HADAPSAR

       The Step Height is inappropriate
         acc. to Physically Challenged
                          People

           Cleanliness Issue

Passengers are just waiting without
knowing the timing of the bus

                                                                                                                            Pathway Of Tapri Walas

Always a Traffic over this place
      because of Public and Private
      Transport sharing same road

      Door System Management is the
one system that is not gonna
            change unless passengers
                       Cooperate

Bus is already full but they
don't let the bus get going
